Spring Break in Cedar Park

Spring is here! Warmer temps mean it’s time to head to Cedar Park for a little weekend getaway. From ziplining, indoor waterpark fun, or checking out local live music, there are plenty of things to see and do. Check out our list below for ideas.

Splash Shack
Take the kids to Splash Shack, Cedar Park’s one-and-only indoor water park. Spend spring break splashing around the many water slides, tipping buckets and various water features. What’s great about an indoor water park is that the temperature is always set to 82 degrees, so you’ll feel like you’re on a tropical vacation. No sunscreen needed!

March 1 – October 1
Lake Travis Zipline Adventures
Get ready to have a thrilling time as the Lake Travis Zipline Adventures starts their operating season on March 1. Spend your spring break zipping across scenic canyons and Lake Travis. Make sure and check out their beautiful lakefront beach, where you can spend the rest of your day unwinding from all that zipping around.

March 14
Whitestone Brewery
Come to Whitestone Brewery to celebrate the start of Spring Break and an early St. Patrick’s Day. There will be special beers on tap starting at 12PM, Irish food by Van’s Damn Tasty food truck, plus live music from 7-10PM by Scottish Thunder (don’t let the name fool you, they’ll be playing your favorite Irish songs!).

March 14 & 21
Austin Steam Train Association – Hill Country Flyer
Climb aboard this special Hill Country Flyer to celebrate Spring Break! On board the train, you will wind through the Hill Country, crossing the wooden trestle bridge over the South San Gabriel River and Short Creek Canyon. Then enjoy a two-hour layover in Burnet, where you can enjoy lunch on your own, wine, shopping, or a leisurely stroll around the historic town square. Finally, relax and enjoy the ride as the train returns to the Cedar Park Depot in the afternoon. Tickets are selling fast, so get yours today!

March 21
Sam Riggs at Wild West
End your spring break with some live music. Check out country music singer and songwriter, Sam Riggs, at Wild West Cedar Park. If you haven’t been to a concert in a while, this will be the show for you. Sam Riggs’ brand of country is a rock-infused sound with a chip on its sonic shoulder.

Every Saturday & Sunday
Red Horn Coffee House & Brewing Co.
Enjoy a nice evening at Red Horn Coffee House & Brewing Co with some live music. Every Saturday and Sunday there will be a different acoustic act playing at the brewery. So come on out and enjoy some local craft beer or in-house roasted coffee and stay awhile.

The Bluebonnets are back!
Due to a shorter winter, Texas bluebonnets are sprouting up a bit earlier this year. Enjoy the lovely spring weather and check out some of the budding bluebonnets and wildflowers at Brushy Creek Lake Park. The park has plenty of walking trails and a lake which makes for a perfect backdrop for these blooms. Looking for an Instagram-worthy photoshoot? Head on over to the field in front of the H-E-B Center at Cedar Park. This wide-open space makes for the perfect bluebonnet photo opportunity. What’s great about bluebonnets is that if there is a patch of land somewhere, there just may be a bluebonnet growing on it. It’s easy to take a road trip and find these blue beauties!

If you spot a field of bluebonnets while in Cedar Park, add #CedarParkFun to your best pics on Instagram and we’ll share the flower power!
